HIGHLIGHTS

This week Year 11, 12 and 13 students had a workshop from Peter Radford about Sexism and Misogyny.  The workshop, through the company Beyond This, seeks to provide a balanced and objective view around the topic rather than the somewhat distorted views that can be accessed on social media platforms.  The students found his work thought provoking and challenging, it is important that as a school we support young people in understanding issues around Sexism and Misogyny.

The Year 7 concert on Thursday evening was fantastic, it was wonderful to see and hear five of the Tutor groups sing as a mass choir as well as individual Tutor groups.  I am looking forward to the other half of the year group next week.  I am sure it will be as equally joyful to listen to.

The Year 10 Boys football team won again!  They are now in the quarter finals of the National Schools Cup.  As a team they have played remarkably well to get this far in the competition playing great football both home and away.  The teams we have played against have also commented on our team's respectful nature which is also wonderful to hear.  The draw for the quarter finals is being streamed live on ESFA's YouTube channel at 6:15 pm on Monday if anyone wants to tune in, the link is:  ESFA TV.

The students at the Year 7 music concert last night were absolutely brilliant and it was lovely to see so many families there supporting them. If you would like your child to get more involved in music there are many different opportunities they can access at Charters from instrumental lessons to extra-curricular groups.

For more information please visit the following pages of the school website: https://www.chartersschool.org.uk/77/music-opportunitieslessons

While it's nice to celebrate the achievements of your children, please can we ask that if any photos or videos of the students' performances were taken, that they are not shared on any social media platforms.
