Parental Focus Groups
Charters School Parental Focus Groups consist of 10-15 parents from Years 7 - 12, who have registered their interest to participate. They act as a sounding board for new initiatives and provide feedback and information on school life from the perspective of the students and their families. These groups are not decision-making but form an integral part of the school's consultation process.
MEMBERSHIP
To take part in the focus group you must be a parent or carer of a child in Year 7 – 12. Parents/carers will each only be allowed to be a member of one focus group per academic year. Where a group is oversubscribed parents/carers will be placed into a ballot for places.
COMMITMENT
Meetings will be arranged on an ad hoc basis according to when the school wishes to consult or receive feedback on a particular issue, event or programme. Meetings will usually fall under one of four headings (detailed below). There will be no more than three meetings for each area in the academic year, and no meetings will last longer than one hour.
