Year 9 Options - 2024-25
Students in Year 9 decide which subjects they will study over the next two years for the Key Stage 4 curriculum. This decision is a very important one as it will affect:
- Progress over the next two years.
- Choices for further study at the end of these two years.
- Prospects for employment.
At the start of the Spring term, information and resources are shared to help students make these decisions, so it is important that time is spent looking at all of the options and discussing decisions with parents/carers, teachers and tutors.

PATHWAY INFORMATION
We have placed all students on to a pathway that we feel will support them in achieving a successful suite of results at the end of key stage 4, appropriate to their ability. This might mean a broad and challenging suite including a humanity subject and language or the Skills based qualification that reduces the pressure of a full suite of GCSEs, prioritising achieving 5 strong qualifications for their next steps.
