HIGHLIGHTS
On Saturday 12 November we had seven PE staff out with various teams taking part in both local and regional competitions. It was wonderful to hear of so many of our students being involved in sporting competition representing the school at the weekend.
During the half-term break, two of our students took part in a workshop supporting young women and girls with HIV in Malawi. During their trip they set aside a day to support the charity in Limbe a suburb of the city of Blantyre in the south of Malawi. The students took art resources donated by the school and helped the participants create pictures of lake Malawi, arguably the most dominant physical feature of Malawi in geographical terms. Thank you to Imaan Year 12 and Ariana Year 9 for supporting this wonderful charity and sharing the Charters ethos of being kind and supportive to others through our values of Unity and Respect.

There is a new FOOD BANK launching in Sunningdale and we would like to share the information with our wider Charters School community.
SHARE Food Bank is partnering with Hope Church, Sunningdale and will stock a range of fresh produce and bakery items that are end of day or surplus stock. All foods will be donated from local supermarkets which Hope Church will then SHARE with the local community. This is food that the supermarkets cannot sell and would otherwise go to waste!
No voucher/referral is needed to attend the food bank and ANYONE can collect a bag of food and also enjoy a tea/coffee and slice of cake.
The food bank will operate in the run up to Christmas, on the following Tuesdays from 12.00 - 1.00 at Hope Church Sunningdale, The Hope Centre, High Street, Sunningdale, SL5 0NG:

We continue to subscribe to National Online Safety and so just wanted to take this opportunity to flag our standing feature on the website. We have also added something new this week.
Standing Feature: Parents Course Ages 11-14 and Parents Course Ages 15-18 These courses provide a brief introduction to the main issues likely to be faced as a parent and a teenager and are extremely well reviewed. They are split into small chunks so you do not have to do the content all at once.
If you have not yet created an account or your child is new to Charters and so you did not know about this, you can sign up here: http://nationalonlinesafety.com/enrol/charters-school
Simply fill in the requested information, check and accept the terms and conditions and click register. It will then ask you to identify that you are a parent by simply clicking a button. It may take a few days until you are able to access the Watch List.
As always if you have any concerns with your child’s e-safety then please contact their Tutor or Head of Year to access advice and support.
