HIGHLIGHTS
On Tuesday this week we held our Winter Concert. The evening was a celebration of the musical talent we have in school. It was lovely to see over 90 students from Year 7 to Year 13 taking part in the event. There was so much for the audience to enjoy across many different musical genres from Cyndi Lauper to Vivaldi. The evening ended with a festive sleigh ride to see the audience on their way. Thank you to all who supported the evening and the students performing.
This week the Sixth Form Community Team have been raising awareness about food banks and helping to collect much needed supplies to give to our local food bank. Thank you to all in your local community who have supported their efforts by sending the requested items in to school. Rather sadly it would seem that Food Banks are becoming a ‘normal’ part of life for many people and anything we can do to support these local charities is very important and very much in keeping with our school values.
The Year 10 Boys football team continued their run in the National Cup with their fifth-round win away to Enfield Grammar School. The 2-0 convincing win follows other impressive away performances, we are now hoping for a home tie having travelled to South East London and North London. Well done to the boys and Mr Wales, let’s hope the sixth-round draw brings us that elusive home tie!
Students in Year 7 were encouraged to create a Christmas card design and a selection from each tutor group have been put together to demonstrate the level of creative talent on show by our younger students.

We are also delighted to report that Year 8 student Henry has won the prestigious Ascot Racecourse Poetry Competition. His wonderful festive poem, which you can read below, was judged winner in the Age 11-14 year category by Ryan Moore and co-judge, Chris Cook, Racing Post Journalist.
Well done to Henry, who has not only won a VIP trip to the Christmas race day at Ascot but also £200 for the school.

NOTICES
PERSONAL SAFETY
Once again we would remind our young people about the importance of being vigilant on their way home form school. We have been made aware of two approaches by a man in a white or grey VW Passat saloon car. This has been reported to the Police. Please remind your sons/daughters about the importance of being aware of their surroundINGS.
CHRISTMAS LUNCH NOW OVER TWO DATES
We are delighted at the volume of orders received for Christmas Lunch. In order to accommodate everyone in the dining hall we shall be serving on two dates
Tuesday 13 December Years 7 and 8
Wednesday 14 December Years 9, 10 and 11
Each sitting will last 45 minutes to allow students time to enjoy their meal.
Otherwise bring a packed lunch or money for The Street Kitchen
There will be no access to the dining hall on these two days except for those who have ordered Christmas lunch.
If you have not ordered a Christmas lunch for your child, or it is not their year group’s day for the dining hall, please send them in with a packed lunch or check there are sufficient funds on their ParentPay lunch monies account to purchase a snack from The Street Kitchen. These students will be given access to the main hall, if desired, to eat their lunch.
Not sure if you’ve ordered Christmas lunch?
Please check the Transaction History in your ParentPay account which will show if you have ordered lunch for your child(ren). If your child receives Free School Meals they will automatically be included in lunch.
No late orders
The deadline for ordering was set by our suppliers. Regrettably, they cannot accommodate any late orders.
GROUP A STREPTOCOCCUS AND SCARLET FEVER
If you are not already familiar with the symptoms of Scarlet Fever, please take a moment to read this NHS webpage. For a deeper dive, the UK Health Security Agency provides this information
At the time of writing we have had one confirmed case of scarlet fever which has been treated with antibiotics.
Scarlet fever is a contagious infection that mostly affects young children. It’s easily treated with antibiotics.
If you or your child has scarlet fever, stay away from school or work for 24 hours after you take the 1st dose of antibiotics.

Thank you for helping to keep our community well.
SOCIAL MEDIA
We are currently experiencing a number of issues that have started with student misuse of social media. Through assemblies, Personal Development lessons and other pastoral intervention we have spent a lot of time going through the potential consequences of misusing social media and the impact that it can have on young people. Please could we ask that you again reinforce these messages at home and monitor the use of your child’s social media platforms.
STUDENT DROP OFF
As we are in the darkest time of the year, and with the weather closing in, please could we request two things regarding picking up students at the end of the day.
- Unless students are taking part in a organised school activity/club, they should not be on the school site after 3:10pm. Please could we ask that if you are picking student up that this is done promptly at the end of the school day.
- Please could we also remind parents/carers that only the designated areas should be used to pick up and drop off. Student safety is our priority and it is hugely important that the flow of traffic is kept away from areas with student movement.
WISH LISTS
Thank you for supporting our Wish Lists. Each department has put together a range of items that will help to enhance the curriculum and bring the syllabus alive for their students and we are so grateful for your support.

The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead is working with local charities, groups, and partners to help those who need additional advice, assistance, and support. This is not an alternative to social services; this network exists to provide additional support.
