HIGHLIGHTS
Ten of our Year 8 students represented the school at the 70 Anniversary Parade at Royal Ascot. They were given a set of the Queen's racing silks to wear and keep as a memento of the occasion. The students were excellent ambassadors for the school and had a wonderful time being part of this fantastic occasion and event.
The Under 15 Girls softball cricket team are County Runners-up after attending the final at Bradfield College. Well done to the team for giving it their all throughout the day and for displaying some fine batting and bowling skills.
The Silver Duke of Edinburgh Assessment was once again very successful. After three days of hard walking and excellent navigation all the students passed the expedition phase. Well done all.
After six weeks, the first external examination series for two years has finished. Well done to all our Year 13 and Year 11 students. You have got through it! We look forward to celebrating with you in August. Details of examination results days are below.

YEAR 8 DUKE OF EDINBURGH
We understand that the online presentation last night was hampered by poor connectivity. This link contains lots of information regarding the running of the scheme at Charters School.
BLAZERS & GENERAL SCHOOL UNIFORM
From Monday, students will no longer have to wear blazers in school. However, if students are cold, they are reminded that a blazer should be worn to help keep warm.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind students that their shirts and polo shirts must be tucked in. Our school uniform is part of the ethos of the school. As such, all students must wear it correctly. This includes the correct footwear and only wearing school-issued badges on the school uniform. We appreciate that students have beliefs that they hold dear to their hearts. We ask that any such badges be on their bags rather than their school uniform.
ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
Unfortunately, we have been made aware of some graffiti in the local area. We are working with the local community and the Police to identify the people responsible for the vandalism.
WATER BALLOONS / WATER PISTOL
Unfortunately, we have had an outbreak of students throwing water balloons and using water pistols. This has, on occasion, escalated to students falling out with each other and unnecessary incidents happening. In addition, a lot of plastic litter is being left around school as a result. It is a very clear message that any student caught with water balloons or water pistols will be given detention and have the balloons and or water pistol confiscated.
GIFTS FOR STAFF
Recently we have been asked whether parents are able to purchase gifts for staff, there is no expectation of this, but staff are permitted to accept small gifts with a value less than £35.00. The limit on gifts is designed to ensure we are compliant with Bribery and Corruption legislation and is line with our Gifts and Hospitality Policy; gifts with a value of more than £35.00 will be politely declined. If you wish to thank a member of staff in this way please ask you child to deliver the gift personally as we are unable to receive items at Reception for distribution to staff or indeed to students.
EXAM RESULTS DAYS
YEAR 13 - 18 AUGUST 2022
Results can be collected from 8:00 am from the Sixth Form Common Room. Please use the back car park where possible and enter through the patio doors at the back of the Common Room.
A UCAS support clinic will be available on the day for any student who needs it.
YEAR 11 - 25 AUGUST 2022
Results can be collected from 9:30 am from the Sixth Form Common Room.
The Sixth Form Admission Team will also be on hand to sign students up for their courses. Any student wishing to return to the Sixth Form is encouraged to sign up before leaving, as we anticipate we will be over-subscribed.
Staff will be on hand to offer support and guidance if needed for students who have not made entry requirements.
If a student wants someone else to collect their examination results, we must have this in writing signed by the student nominating the person to collect them with both signatures. The person collecting must bring identification with them on the day to collect the results.
This needs to be adhered to even if the person collecting is a sibling or parent
Any results not collected by midday will be e-mailed to the student later that day.

Emily Year 9 - Being a fantastic team member during the rounders tournament, making smart decisions and good plays and rising to the occasion.
Marli Year 10 - For being a fantastic leader during the District Championship. She was very supportive of younger athletes who weren't sure of themselves and were upset before their events. She encouraged them before they took the track and then supported them throughout the day - on top of all that she came first in all four of her events. A perfect embodiment of our school values, of Unity, Respect, Excellence.
