Over the Easter break, 50 students from Years 9 and 10 swapped classrooms for the crisp air of the Italian mountains, as they took part in Charters School’s much-anticipated annual ski trip to Santa Caterina.

After a 25-hour journey to the stunning Ortles-Cevedale mountain range, students settled into their accommodation before enjoying a scenic walk into the village to collect their ski equipment. The evening concluded with a welcoming dinner in a cosy wooden lodge nestled at the foot of the slopes - setting the tone for the exciting week ahead.

What followed were six glorious days of skiing under clear blue skies and bright spring sunshine. Students were grouped by ability on the first day, and throughout the week, their progress was nothing short of remarkable. On the final day, their hard work culminated in a friendly slalom race, where students and staff competed for gold, silver, and bronze medals, cheered on by their peers and instructors alike.

Beyond the slopes, the week was filled with fun, laughter, and a true sense of camaraderie. Students supported each other throughout - from mastering tricky techniques to sharing stories over evening meals. Instructors were quick to praise their impeccable behaviour, respectful attitudes, and enthusiasm, noting what a pleasure it was to work with such a kind and engaged group.

Our sincere thanks go to Miss Male, Mrs Richardson, Mrs Herbert, Mr King, and Mr Watts for supporting Mr Morgan-John, who led the trip. Their time, care, and encouragement helped make the experience a memorable one for all involved.

Every student was a true ambassador for Charters School, exemplifying our core values of Unity, Respect, and Excellence throughout the trip. We’re incredibly proud of them all.
