Matilda the Musical!

Trips are a wonderful experience for students. They bring a subject to life, build confidence and create memories that last a lifetime. This week our Drama department saw Matilda the musical and two Year 7 students who took part in the trip have kindly written a summary of their experience.

Ella C - 7D

I really, really, loved watching Matilda the musical with the other Year 7s. At the start one of the directors came out and said that this show was special because there were 4 new children cast members and one of them was Matilda! My favourite part of the show was probably when they did School Song. It was when all the school children had their first day of school and the older people were putting in blocks in the gate, and then there were other people then standing on the blocks that were being put in. It looked very cool and it must have taken a lot of practice as it was so perfect and in-time with the music. Another one of my favourite songs was Hammer which Miss Trunchball sang, and then towards the end of the song some of the school children sang in the boxes at the side of the stage which was so cool. My favourite character was definitely Lavender as she was so cheeky and funny. Another favourite character would also be Radolpho as he was also so funny and made lots of jokes and even in some of the serious scenes he would still say something that was so funny! Thank you so much for letting Year 7 watch Matilda the musical, it was so amazing and I would definitely watch it again!

I had the best time ever at Matilda the musical with my friends from Year 7! Everyone in the show was so talented and especially Matilda as it was her first ever show being Matilda!!! My favourite dance is very hard to chose as it was all so good but if I had to it would be Miracle because the dancers and their flexibility was so cool! But one of my favourite scenes was the Amanda Thripp scene as they made it so cool that it looked like they actually threw her. If I had to chose my favourite character it would be Matilda because I love acting and I would love to be Matilda. All of the cast should be so proud as all of us are so impressed with their talent! Thank you so much for letting us go on this trip, I have made so many memories from it.
