In an innovative blend of art, science, and literature, our school's Science Department, in collaboration with the school's Librarian Mrs. Olding, has unveiled a new mural titled the 'Periodic Table of Books' in the Science Block. Installed this week, the mural has quickly become a focal point, eliciting enthusiastic reactions from students such as "Cool!", "I love this!", and "Look at that!" as they encountered the vibrant display on Thursday.

The concept was spearheaded by Head of Science, Miss Lawson, who wanted to brighten up a bare corridor with an educational yet engaging graphic. Partnering with Mrs. Olding, they curated a selection of book titles that cleverly incorporate the elements of the Periodic Table, spanning a diverse array of cross-curricular subjects.

This artistic endeavour not only aids students in memorising chemical elements but also inspires them to explore a broader spectrum of reading materials. By associating each element with a book title, the mural serves as a bridge connecting scientific concepts with literary works, fostering a multidisciplinary appreciation amongst students.

The 'Periodic Table of Books' stands as a testament to the school's commitment to innovative educational approaches, transforming empty spaces into interactive and inspiring environments.

Students wishing to read any of the books appearing in the mural can borrow a copy from the school Library and discover how Science and Literature intertwine!
