Year 9 Students Experience Elite Training at Arsenal FC

A group of lucky Year 9 students recently had the incredible opportunity to visit one of the country’s most prestigious football clubs, Arsenal FC, for an unforgettable training experience at their world-class facilities.
During their visit, the students were put through their paces by coaches who used the sessions to work towards their next coaching badges. Taking place in Arsenal’s state-of-the-art training dome, the sessions were designed to reflect the club’s renowned playing style; high intensity, fast-paced, and tactically sharp.
Michael from 9I shared his excitement about the experience, saying, “I really enjoyed both training sessions that I took part in at the Arsenal training ground, and I have learnt a lot from the experience. I learnt how to move the ball quickly and effectively, whilst always giving options for my teammates. I loved the intensity and competitive element of the drills that we did in the first session. In the second session, the tournament we played was at a very high standard, which also helped me to improve. Overall, I am very grateful for the experience, and I have become a better teammate and individual as a result.”
This unique opportunity not only gave our students a taste of professional-level training but also helped them develop their football skills, teamwork, and understanding of the game. A huge thank you to Mr Cumner and Mr Marris for organising and leading these fantastic trips, which have undoubtedly inspired our students to push themselves further in their footballing journeys!
