13th Feb 2025

This week, Charters School introduced an exciting new initiative for students in Years 8, 9, 10, and 12 - the Free & Equal Ambassadors Programme. Designed to empower young people to become voices for equity, justice, and respect, this one-year programme aims to create meaningful change within our school community.

Students are encouraged to reflect on pressing issues facing society today, including racism, misogyny, mental health, social media influences, and discrimination. The programme will equip ambassadors with the knowledge and skills to identify unconscious bias, tackle discrimination, and lead impactful campaigns on issues they are passionate about.

Successful applicants will participate in:

  • A full-day training session exploring unconscious bias, discrimination, and activism.
  • A six-part certified online training programme to deepen their understanding of key social issues.
  • Hands-on campaign work to drive positive change within the school.

Students interested in becoming Free & Equal Ambassadors must complete the application process before Monday, 3rd March. The first meeting and training session will take place on Monday, 17th March, where successful applicants will also receive a Free & Equal Ambassador T-shirt.

With 15-30 places available, this is a unique opportunity for students to make a difference in their school and beyond.

For more details, students should check their emails for the job description and application form or contact Mr. Metson with any questions.

It only takes one person to start a movement—could that be you?
