Two members of the University of Chichester's Criminology faculty visited Charters Sixth Form this week to give students a valuable insight into life as an undergraduate.

Dr Stephanie Bennett and Hollie Trollen, who are both Senior Lecturers in Criminology and Forensic Psychology, explained to the A Level Sociology and Psychology students that a Criminology degree explores the scientific study of crimes and why people commit them.

The students were taken through the various elements that need to be examined when a crime is committed, and were then given a case study to complete as the Senior Investigating Officer tasked with solving the crime.

The lesson was a wonderful insight into this fascinating multidisciplinary field, and showed our students where the subjects they are currently learning could take them in the future.

Our thanks to Stephanie and Hollie for bringing their subject so richly to life, and to Mrs Palmer- Garrett for organising this enrichment lesson.
