Sixth Form Carols for Care Home Residents
On Wednesday 8 December, a group of our Sixth Form students spread a little Christmas cheer when they sang socially distanced carols to residents in a local care home.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Ascot Grange care home is unable to allow anyone who has not been double vaccinated to enter its building, so our students wrapped themselves up against the cold December wind and sang their hearts out on the patio instead!
Louise Palmer, who is the Client Liaison Manager at Ascot Grange, arranged for hot drinks and nibbles to help keep out the worst of the winter weather, while the residents themselves were wrapped in blankets inside as the windows were open to allow them to hear the carols.
Our school motto is Unity Respect Excellence and this small act of kindness towards our older local residents really embodies these three words.
A note of thanks must go to Mr Metson, Head of Year 12, who organised this wonderful event.
