At Charters School, we know that regular attendance isn’t just about showing up to lessons—it’s about seizing the opportunities that make education truly enriching. From academic growth to extracurricular activities (ECAs), being present unlocks experiences that shape students into well-rounded individuals.

Our ECAs offer students the chance to explore their passions, develop new skills, and create unforgettable memories. Last week, the Drama Department brought this to life with an exciting trip to the West End to see the acclaimed musical Wicked.

Year 8 student Eilidh's reflections on the trip:
“Everyone was buzzing with excitement once we arrived at the theatre, unable to contain their hurried whispers about what they thought Wicked was going to be about. Those who had watched the movie were anticipating the second half of the musical, although some people were completely clueless and had no idea what they were about to experience.

Once we were situated in the theatre with our snacks and drinks, the show began, and a hushed silence fell upon everyone.

My favourite part of it was definitely all of Glinda’s high notes. Every time she would sing, me and my friends would look at each other with our jaws wide open in shock. But all the cast were incredible singers and performers, and it was by far one of the best musicals I’ve ever been to see!”

Our thanks to Miss Annesley for organising the trip, to Eilidh for such a fantastic summary, and to all the students taking part who represented Charters School so beautifully.
