Students Council
Allowing our students to use their voice is key to our values at Charters. We provide an opportunity for discussion on issues through our Senior Student Leadership Team, Year Group Councils, the School Council, and our Student Focus Groups. Student voice provides our students with an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas on new initiatives, areas for school development and issues which affect them daily, providing feedback and information on school life from the perspective of the students.
This term's School Council took place this week and Lois, who chaired the meeting with others from the Senior Student Leadership Team, explained why the meetings are so important. "As Head Students, we appreciate that the School Council is about ensuring every student’s voice is heard and valued, giving a space for new ideas and perceptive feedback. Every meeting is different, and the continuous change of year group reps ensures new perspectives are circulated. By being in a leadership role, we find it fulfilling to work alongside all students and make a change based on what people suggest, making the school environment as best as it can be.'
Charters Sixth Form provides many ways in which our young adults can take the lead on initiatives and their impact leaves a legacy. The application process to join our Outstanding Sixth Form is now open and closes on Friday 13 December. Start your application here.
