RHS Wisley Inspires Art Students
For more than 200 years, the Royal Horticultural Society has been the force behind the nation’s love of gardening. Backed by its core vision ‘to enrich everyone’s life through plants, and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place’ their gardens at Wisley are a year-round source of enjoyment for those living in the local area.
Wisley was given to the RHS in 1903, and is now a hub of horticultural excellence with 240 acres to explore. It is home to some of the largest collections anywhere in the globe and showcases inspirational gardening.
Students in Year 9 who will be studying Art and Design as a GCSE course, spent a day at the garden this week to observe the environment and learn about how plants inspire through their variety of shape, colour, and texture.
The trip was organised by Mrs Lee Wragg and supports the students' first GCSE project ‘Art and Design in Nature’
