Fabien's Trip To The Races

Many students from the local area entered the Ascot Racecourse Schools Art Competition this year, and we are so proud of Year 7 student Fabien who was runner-up in the Under 12 category.

Part of his prize was a day at the races and afternoon tea at the prestigious venue.

Below Fabien recounts the day:

"The day of this exciting event I wake up feeling unbelievable. Never in a million years did I ever think one of my drawings would be selected for anything.

None the less, the whole experience of sharing the unique day with family and friends could not have happened at a better time.

It was great to see the other selectees who also had amazing talent. I felt like a little celebrity brushing shoulders and shaking hands with the judges. I'd say the compliments got to my head!

I will continue to work on my art and hopefully one day it will take me places."
