Whoosh English Lesson
Ever wondered what an inspiring English lesson looks like in 2023? It looks like the one our Year 9 students experienced this week, which fused Drama and English to help students understand the nuances of the Shakespeare play Macbeth.
With the students gathered around two tables of props, soft bagpipe music wafting through the air, and the blinds closed to create the perfect atmosphere, the stage was set for the students to experience the play through a Whoosh! drama activity.
Miss Turner narrated the story and chose students to mime the characters, be props and create settings for the Year 9 text.
The Whoosh! concept was first created by the Royal Shakespeare Company and is an interactive and engaging method to ensure students understand, and remember, the main parts of the Bard's plays.
