We are delighted to announce that Year 10 student Nicole has won the age 7-11 Schools Photography Competition which is run annually by Ascot Racecourse.

Her beautiful image of a polo match captures three horses at full canter. Nicole said, "I took this photo because I love to watch polo and I have a bond with the sport because I have started playing it. I think this photograph highlights the power, strength and stamina of a polo pony and captures the beauty of the sport." We couldn't agree more!

Nicole received a framed copy of her photograph from Mr Fletcher and has been invited to the Christmas Family Raceday with her parents on 23rd December to receive a £100 prize from Ascot Racecourse. A spokesperson from Ascot said, "We were delighted to receive so many entries and our judge was very impressed with the quality of submissions which made choosing an overall winner very difficult!"

Mr Holmes, who is Head of Photography at Charters School said, "I am thrilled that Nicole has been recognised for her incredible image. As part of Nicole's prize the Photography department has been awarded £1000 from Ascot Race Course and the funds will really benefit our students."

Very well done to Nicole and our thanks to Mr Holmes for entering our students' work.
