Join Us at the Sunninghill Street Fayre
Charters School is proud to be at the very heart of our community, and we hope that many of you will join us on Sunday when we take part in the Sunninghill Street Fayre.
Running from 12 noon until 4 pm, this wonderful event last took place in 2018 and is a lovely way for local businesses, community groups and schools to showcase their organisations.
Charters School's stall can be found in the playground of St. Michael's School and we will be running a free Treasure Hunt... the person who can find where the treasure is hidden will receive a small prize. We will also be promoting ways in which the local community can get involved at Charters; from taking part in our annual Careers Week and telling students about the route you have taken in your current job, to joining our alumni Facebook page to reconnet with your classmates.
Year 9 student Oliver is also taking part in the Street Fayre, and will be running a sweet and toy tombola to help raise funds for his forthcoming trip to Malawi next year with Berkshire Scouts. The Scouts will be building a new community centre in Malawi during the 2024 Summer holidays, and each boy is tasked with raising £3750 by next May to cover all costs & building materials. You can support Oliver by visiting his stall on Sunday or donating via his Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/page/oliver-jones-malawi-2024. Oliver will also be learning building skills including learning to make bricks/bricklaying/cement mixing, painting & general DIY skills.
We wish Oliver well with his fundraising which to date has included a Scout disco, bags2school, BBQ, bag packing, leaflet deliveries and customised stone artwork.
