Let's Talk About Mental Health

3rd Oct 2023

We will be celebrating Hello Yellow over the next few weeks to raise awareness, (and hopefully some funds,) for the charity Young Minds, who support young people with their mental health. We can all struggle from time to time, and it's not uncommon for things to get on top of us. Talking more openly about our mental health throughout the year is one way to make it easier to ask for help when times are tough and it's difficult to cope.

During registration our Tutor groups will be creating word clouds to demonstrate the importance of talking about our mental health. These will be displayed in each Tutor room as a reminder of the importance of looking after our mental health throughout the year.

Head Students & Alumni (10)

Students will also take part in a House quiz which shines a light on the work of the Young Minds charity, and each Tutor group will be writing words of support onto yellow ribbons to display around the school site.

Then on October 10, which is the national day Hello Yellow is celebrated across the country, we will be encouraging our school community to wear yellow. Students in Years 7-11 are encouraged to wear a yellow accessory in addition to their school uniform, for example a tie, socks, shoe laces, bracelets, hair ribbons etc. while Sixth Form students can wear yellow as part of their outfit choice for the day!! This will be a House competition and donations can be made to the Young Minds charity.
