Enrichment in Sixth Form
Year 12 students began their Enrichment programme this week and have opted to choose a wide variety of experiences from Social Action and Culture Club to Japanese.
Our EPQ programme also got under way with more than a 1/3 of our Year 12 students choosing to develop their skills in research, critical thinking and extended writing, which is a wonderful preparation for University life.
Kirsten said, 'Doing an Extended Project Qualification is going to aid my application to the university of my choice as well as offering support for my future in which I hope to commission into the British Army. EPQ is good because you get lots of support from the teachers who encourage you to do your best. Doing an EPQ has made me think further and deeper into topics, which is why I am doing my dissertation on "To what extent are war crimes an act of pure patriotism or an illegal act of violence?" '
The Sixth Form Open Evening for entry in September 2024 is taking place on Thursday 12 October between 5pm and 8pm, and we welcome current Year 11 students and their parents/carers to discover what makes this exciting part of our school so special. There will be an introductory presentation by our Headteacher, Mr Fletcher, and our Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Hill, at 5.30 pm and 6.30 pm in the Main Hall and places can be secured by following the link below:
