Celebration of Achievement
On Thursday 21 September, we held our annual Celebration of Achievement Evening which celebrates the progress and achievements of students not sitting public examinations during the past academic year. Special awards are presented to students who exemplify the school values of Unity, Respect and Excellence in both their work and their attitude to learning.
Our guest speaker for the Key Stage 3 and Year 10 & 12 events was Eve Bazeley, who left Charters in 1997 and is now the Transformation Director at the British Red Cross. Eve showed the invited guests a rock, and explained that just like a sculptor who can shape a piece of stone, we can all 'sculpt' ourselves into the people we aspire to be, by adopting certain values. She explained that integrity, confidence and resilience have all played a crucial role in shaping her life and reflected that these virtues are the same as some of our Character Pillars.
After the students received their certificates, Caitlin and Milly entertained the guests by each performing a piece of music.
We would like to congratulate all the students who received an award and thank Eve, Caitlin and Milly for giving up their time to be part of the two events.
