So that’s the end to a fantastic 2022-2023 Duke of Edinburgh season which saw nearly 180 students taking part in this empowering scheme.  Over the course of the year, 96 students headed off to the Chilterns to complete their Bronze Practice and Assessed expedition; 58 Silver Students travelled to the New Forest for their practice and recently arrived back from a very warm assessed weekend in the Forest of Dean; plus 18 Gold Students successfully completed their expeditions in the Brecon Beacons and the Lake District.  All this totalling an impressive 5892 hours on expeditions this year! The weather has thrown everything at them from perfect walking days to very warm, very windy or very wet conditions, but all the students took this in their stride and used their teamwork and resilience skills to battle through.

The 2023-2024 season will be launched shortly for our new Year 9 students and the Silver and Gold award schemes will be presented to students during assembly. If you have any questions please contact dofe@chartersschool.org.uk.

Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator Miss De'Ath would like to personally thank all the parents, staff and members of the local community who support the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme whether that be supervising students when camping on expeditions, or by completing assessor reports for the skill, volunteering and physical sections that are required.  Everyone's help is appreciated.

Well done to our 22-23 DofE cohort and we look forward to reading about our next wave of students taking part.
