There have been all sorts of musical delights happening across the school this week .

Year 7 enjoyed an end of year musical treat when we were joined once again by InspireWorks who delivered hour-long workshops on West African Drumming to all of our Tutor groups.

The students got involved with the djembes and created some excellent pieces of music. InspireWorks will be back again next year for more African drumming as well as Year 9 workshops on Caribbean Steel Pans and Year 8 Workshops on Brazilian Drumming.

Then on Wednesday, the Year 10s had their end of year concert. The concert was organised and run by the students themselves who selected their own repertoire, set up for the concert and created their own programs. There was a retiring collection for two charities that were close to the students' hearts and the audience donated well over £150.

The quality of the music was excellent and students supported each other before and during the performance. It was wonderful to see such camaraderie between students. I look forward to hearing more from these students next year.
