Fantastic Summer Festival
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our 65th birthday celebrations such a success last weekend.
Despite the weather, our school site was brimming with visitors and it was wonderful to see some of our very first Head Boys and Girls chatting with their fellow schoolfriends as they looked through our archived memorabilia in the Alumni Hub.
Students who will be starting in September had the opportunity to meet current students in the Game Zone, which was created entirely by Year 7 students with the help of the Senior Student team. It was great to see so many happy faces trying their luck on the various games.
Thames Valley Fire and Rescue brought along one of their fire engine and our local community police officer, PCSO Cudmore-Ray, spent the day chatting with students and parents about local matters.
The Rotary Club, Sunninghill Trust, Sunningdale Parish Council and Sebastian's Action Trust all manned stalls at the event, and many of our school sponsors, including Knight Frank and Berkeley Homes, were also present.
Mr Hoare created a fantastic programme of performances to keep our visitors entertained, and we were so pleased to welcome back past students who wanted to be part of our celebrations. Many staff and parents manned stalls so that the day went with a swing and our thanks goes out to the Scouts who manned the BBQ and the artisan craftspeople who took part in our Festival Marketplace.
Cucina laid on a wonderful assortment of street food to help everyone keep up their stamina for the four hours of fun, and we would like to give a special mention to Mr Smith, our groundsman, who worked so hard to ensure our school site looked at its best.
Although the event was primarily intended to re-establish community links after the pandemic, we also managed to raise an astonishing £6611.59 which will kick-start our Art Refurbishment campaign.
Thank you to everyone who supported the event and here's to the next 65 years!
