Berkshire Schools Track and Field Championships
On Saturday, sixteen of our students from Year 9 to Year 13 represented the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead in the Berkshire Schools Track and Field Championships at Palmer Park in Reading.
There were some good performances on the day, a few PBs, plus two gold medals.
In the Inter Girls 80m Hurdles, Marli ran a new PB of 12.9 seconds to win her race beating second place by over a second. Eddie jumped 5cm higher than his peers in the Junior Boys High Jump to secure his first place position overall.
Our silver medallists were Holly who ran a PB in the Junior Girls 800m, George in the Junior Boys High Jump, Olly in the Inter Boys Triple Jump (who also achieved a PB) and Josh in the Senior Boys 2000m Steeplechase.
A full list of our students who competed and how they did can be found here.
Students behaved impeccably and showed commendable determination in their events. Despite some good results, on this occasion the athletes did not meet the qualifying standard for the national competition but we'd like to say a huge well done to them all for competing, and look forward to hearing more about their athletics in the future.
Thank you to Mr Wales, Mr Hancock, Mr Harvey and Mr Lunnon who managed the RBWM team throughout the day.
