Students Meet World Renowned Composer
Our Music department organised a trip to hear the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra play at Cadogan Hall this week. The concert was part of the celebrations to mark the orchestra's Silver Jubilee. Apart from playing pieces such as Mozart's Ch’io mi scordi di te? & Piano Concerto No. 20 and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, the Oxford Philharmonic had also commissioned John Rutter to write a new piece of music as a way to celebrate the occasion. The composer then conducted the orchestra himself in the performance of it.
After the concert had finished, our students were fortunate to meet the composer/conductor in the lobby, and approached the world renowned musician for a selfie.
We're sure that this is a trip they will remeber for a very long time.
