Charity Swim
We reported in February that four students from Charters Sixth Form were showing the school's values of Unity Respect Excellence as they began training to swim a half marathon to raise funds for Cancer Research and Marie Curie.
Luca, Olivia, Hayam and Saffie all know friends and family who have unfortunately experienced this terrible disease and so the challenge was very personal for them. They trained throughout the cold Winter and Spring months in readiness for the event and last Saturday completed the challenge, so far raising an incredible £1,650 and smashing their target! Their time for completing the half marathon was 5:24:37 which is a sports relief record!
Their Just Giving page is still open and should you wish to support the students they would be very grateful. Donations can be made using the button below and all funds will benefit the Swimathon initiative which raises funds for Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie.
We are extremely proud of the students and would like to congratulate them on their fundraising.
