24th Mar 2023

There was an incredible evening of music making on Wednesday. All of the ensembles from the Music Department along with a variety of soloists performed some beautiful and challenging music.

Many audience members were very complimentary about the students' performances and there was a definite sense of excitement surrounding the evening.

The event was also used to hand out Music Colours to students in Year 12 and Year 11 as it will be their final performance before their exams.

This academic year Charters are reintroducing the concept of School Colours. We would like to be able to formally recognise the hard work and commitment that many students put into the life and community of the school.

Henry and Sophia from Year 11, and Millie, Milly and Owen in Year 12  are the first students to receive the new Charters Music Department Colours.  These awards celebrate achievement and excellence within music lessons and extra-curricular activities.

Over the next few months School Colours will be awarded to a variety of students and presented at key whole school events and activities. School Colours can be achieved in Music, Drama, Sport and Community.

Congratulations to our first group of winners for their dedication and commitment to the Music department.

For more details about the School Colours, please see the website here.

On a slightly different note, a lovely umbrella was found in the Hall after the concert.  If it is yours, please contact the school so we can reunite you with it!
