SATRO Final
On Monday 20 March Charters School hosted the final of the SATRO STEM Design Challenge.
24 teams took part in the competition, with competitors coming from 15 different schools and ranging from those in from Year 7 through to Year 13. One team came all the way from Folkestone!
The students had to design and build 2 devices to move Lego bricks across a ravine. Each device could only be operated by one student using one hand. To make it even harder the bricks needed to be transferred to sections of the same colour on each side of the ravine.
It was a huge achievement to qualify for the final and although our Charters teams didn't win one of the sustainable bamboo trophies, it was a huge achievement to qualify for the final.
Very well done to all the students who represented Charters so magnificently at this event and for Mrs Cook's wonderful organisational skills in making the SARTO final so successful.
