Sixth Form Student Launches Company
Have you ever watched Dragons Den or The Apprentice and think that you could launch your own company? Many of us dream about being the next Alan Sugar, but very few of us actually have the tenacity to do something about it.
That wasn't the case for Year 12 student Noah, who came up with an idea for a business venture in August last year though his interest in fashion and clothes. Noah has just launched his first collection and when asked about the initial concept said, "I originally started with the name 'Celeritas' which is Latin for swiftness and speed, however this name didn't stick for very long as making a design with it was very difficult. So around a month later I decided to change the name to 'Nowhere Specific' and I made a very strong design that went along side the name."
Noah has developed the Nowhere Specific company himself and has paid particular attention to the branding. "The design of the logo shows a mini map or map with buildings and roads to represent an unknown location," he said. "I have worked so hard on finding manufacturers, making designs, making the website to make sure everything was perfect for when it releases. I ended up ordering 2 samples as the first one wasn't up to my liking."
Noah drops limited edition stock at specific times and customers are able to access his website during these periods. It has become a popular way of selling clothes and garments over the past couple of years and for every Nowhere Specific drop that happens, the on-line shop opens for a limited time but is closed at the moment the drop has finished.
It is clear that Noah's attention to detail will stand his business in good stead and we wish Noah every success for the future success of Nowhere Specific.
