Students Swim for Charity
Four students from Charters Sixth Form are showing the school's values of Unity Respect Excellence as they prepare to swim a half marathon to raise funds for Cancer Research and Marie Curie.
Luca, Olivia, Hayam and Saffie have both friends and family who have unfortunately suffered, or are suffering, from this terrible disease and so it is for them, and the large number of others around the world who are battling cancer, that they will be tackling this challenge.
Luca said, "Preparing for this event has been challenging as swimming this half marathon (840 lengths) requires us to train at least 8 hours a week. With a goal of raising £1000, which we are so close to hitting, this has been the incentive to keep us motivated, and will continue to be so though the swim itself. Any support which can be given to help us achieve the target, or even better exceed it, would be very much appreciated. We would also like to thank all those who have already donated to this cause as your enthusiasm to see us succeed has kept us focused and energised."
If you are able to support the students they would be very grateful and donations can be made to their Just Giving page using the button below:
We would like to thank all those who are able to support this initiative and wish Luca, Olivia, Hayam and Saffie all the very best for their half marathon which takes place on 13 May.
