Reading Boosts Your Wellbeing
As you can see from the image above, World Book Day is something that we like to celebrate!
Adopting the theme of Reading Boosts Your Wellbeing we will be celebrating World Book Day 2023 throughout the school all next week and have a fantastic range of activities planned for students across all year groups:
- World Book Day Assemblies will be delivered throughout the week to all Year Groups
- Tutors will each be delivering Tutor Time Ten-Minute-Story-Shares during Registration
- A House Competition that all students can take part in will have a bookish theme
- A Book Token Design Competition will be available for students to take part in from the Library where entries can also be submitted
- The Teacher Dress-Up Competition will take place on Friday 3 March with staff throughout the school dressing up as characters from their favourite books. Students will be able to take part in a competition to record as many of the characters as they can in the final competition of the week! Entry forms can be collected and submitted in the Library
World Book Day Vouchers have gone digital this year.

Celebrating World Book Day is just one of the ways in which we value the impact that reading for pleasure has across all areas of learning. Reading avidly and strengthening associated literacy skills has been highlighted as the 'gateway' to unlocking students' potential, and enables them to achieve their aspirations in every academic subject.
