Tackling Misogyny
On Thursday 2 February we are pleased to report that we will be welcoming Peter Radford to Charters School. Peter will be talking to students in years 11, 12 and 13 about society's views towards women and how 'influencers' like Andrew Tate are creating entrenched and harmful gender stereotypes which need to be changed.
There has been a rise in disrespectful behaviour towards females across the UK since the pandemic, and Peter's visit will give our students the knowledge to identify sexism, misogyny or harassment and the tools to make the right choices going forward.
Peter, who is the founder of Beyond This will be touching on:
- unconscious bias and systemic discrimination
- the process of discrimination; from stereotyping to prejudice, which leads to discrimination
- sexual harassment and how to address it
- the portrayal of women historically and in modern media
- masculinity and what it means to be male
