Have you heard about our Pride Soc?  It is an inclusive group of our students who meet every Wednesday Week B  during 2nd Break in A10.

Pride Soc is open to all year groups and is a welcoming, safe space for LGBTQ+ students and allies to meet, socialise and discuss issues pertinent to the LgBTQ+ community.

This supportive group helps to raise awareness of our school’s LGBTQ+ community and aims to help make our school a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

This term, Pride Soc students have discussed many topics such as the core vocab related to the LGBTQIA+ community and the Genderbread resource used as a tool to teach gender in schools.

They have reviewed the Personal Development Lessons relating to LGBTQIA+ topics that take place at Charters and they have been busy making and distributing pronoun badges for students and staff, like the one worn by Deputy Headteacher, Mrs Henly.

If you would like to discover more, the group would love to welcome you at the next meeting.  Please visit our Pride Soc webpage for more information.
