Foodbank Collection
The House Captain Team is running a collection for The Trussell Trust and the Charters Essential Parcels initiative all next week.
As a team, they are conscious of the impact that the cost of living crisis has on family budgets in the local community and strongly believe that nobody should go hungry this winter.
Lewis, lead House Captain for Bulldogs said, 'Charters’ motto of Unity is accomplished, not through words, but through actions we take as a school to help those who are less fortunate than us. This is why we are running a winter food collection; to come together as a Charters family and support those who are struggling in this difficult time. We encourage those, who are able, to please donate to this important cause and do your bit in this time of need.'
The House Captains will be collecting food between Monday 4 and Friday 8 December. They will be setting up collection boxes before school under the canopy outside The Dining Hall and there will also be a collection station in the Sixth Form Common Room.
There will be coloured boxes where students can leave their donations. The boxes will be red, blue and green which correspond with the colours of our Houses. Items will be counted each morning and each item will generate a point for its House.
The donated food will be delivered to The Trussell Trust the following week and items will also be used to create Charters Essential Parcels for families within our school. We will keep you updated on this wonderful initiative.
