This thought provoking play, has Dominic in the role of Tomo and he answered some questions for us to give an insight in to what it is like to be part of such a production.
What made you audition for the part?
I auditioned not specifically for the role but for any part. The school haven't done a play in ages and thought it would be a new test and would help develop my acting skills. The subject content as well is, at times very heavy, so to convey the emotion of the play itself would be a great challenge that I wanted to get stuck in with and would push my acting talent.
What is Private Peaceful about?
Private Peaceful follows the story of two brothers and how their relationship interacts with the backdrop of the Great War. It focuses on friendships, family, love and violence - showing the true extent of the horrors of war besides the obvious fighting.
How relevant is the story to current events?
The story is incredibly relevant to current world events such as the war and invasion of Ukraine. Moreover, it explores the social problems of war which are increasingly becoming more and more relevant in the modern world.
What have you learnt from being part of the Senior Production?
The School Production teaches you a range of valuable soft skills - everything from: organisation, teamwork, working to deadlines, creative thinking.... the list is endless! It is also nice working towards a common goal and a big project which will entertain family and friends.
