On Monday 26 September, we held our annual Celebration of Achievement Evening, which this year was sponsored by Knight Frank Lettings of Ascot.  The event celebrates the progress and achievements of students not sitting public examinations during the past academic year, and special awards are presented to students who exemplify the school values of Unity, Respect and Excellence in both their work and their attitude to learning.

The event, which is always exceptionally well supported by parents and staff, is one of our most prestigious events and is a wonderful opportunity for all those connected with Charters School to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our students.

The highlight of this year’s event was the recognition of two Sixth Form students who had achieved the PiXL Edge Masters award with Distinction, the highest possible level in the PiXL Edge awards programme. PiXL Edge is a nationwide scheme which was created by our former Headteacher Richard Pilgrim, and now runs in over 1500 schools. The programme develops and accredits the attitudes, attributes and skills essential for employability and life. Tom and Alanna dedicated over 100 hours to achieve the Masters award and are two of only four students to have reached this level in the past ten years.

When asked about Frank Knight’s decision to sponsor the event, Head of Ascot & Virginia Water Lettings, Ross Harvey, said that there was a real connection between Knight Frank’s values and the school’s. "Here at Knight Frank, we celebrate every individual and encourage and support those who excel in a variety of ways, just like Charters School does throughout the year with the students who are involved in the Celebration of Achievement evening. That is why we have chosen to sponsor the Celebration of Achievement Awards, as Knight Frank and Charters share the same values and principles. We are honoured to participate and contribute in sponsoring this fantastic event.”

The sponsorship from this event will go towards our Unity Fund which helps to support students whose families may be experiencing financial difficulties.

Headteacher, John Fletcher said, “The evening was a wonderful celebration of our students’ continued hard work and dedication not only to their academic studies but also their involvement in extracurricular activities and supporting the local community through the PiXL Edge programme.  Congratulation to all the award winners last night.  Thank you to Knight Frank for sponsoring the event and their support of the school in helping us to support students across all the year groups.”
