HIGHLIGHTS
This week has been National Careers Week and throughout the week we have had 10 guest speakers come into school to discuss their careers and the jobs they do. This is in addition to the speakers we have throughout the course of the year in departmental areas who talk about their roles. These have ranged from people working for NGOs to entrepreneurs who have set up successful businesses.
Staff have also been sharing their career routes and as you would expect very few are straight lines, we have staff who have worked in the city, been in the armed services, worked for multinational companies, worked in local government, worked in the police service and many more. Thank you to all who have shared their career journeys.
You can find out all that has gone on this week on our National Careers Week page.
The applications are open for the new Head Team of students in the Sixth Form. I very much enjoyed reading their applications this week and seeing what they do for the school as well as their local communities. It amazes me just how much our young people do and what responsibilities they take on. I look forward to hearing about them in the interviews. The present Head Team are coming into the final few weeks of their tenure, they will be involved in appointing their successors and helping to guide them in the first few weeks.
STRIKE ACTION
Earlier this week we highlighted the provision we will have in place on the two strike days next week. We are trying to ensure that we can provide the best possible solution for the students but do understand that this is very disruptive for everyone. Staff who are not available on Wednesday or Thursday, may be ill or have a planned leave of absence so they will also not be providing online lessons. We will endeavour to let students know which staff are able to teach online by 9:00 am on both days.
Information about MS Teams and remote learning can be found on the Remote Learning page of the website.

HOPE CHURCH FOOD BANK, SUNNINGDALE
SHARE@ Hope Church, Sunningdale food bank every Tuesday 12:00-1:00
Hate food waste? Come along to Hope Church Sunningdale FOOD BANK, open to ANYONE. We have mainly fresh food and bakery items donated from local supermarkets. The food is at the end of its shelf life (but still perfectly fine to eat!) It would otherwise just go to waste. Bring a bag to fill up, stop for a chat and a cup of tea (and cake!!) and warm up in the church. ALL welcome, no voucher/referral required.
