Sunninghill Trust Sponsor Strategies for Success Day

We would like to thank The Sunninghill Trust for sponsoring the forthcoming Strategies for Success Day for our Year 11 students. 

The motivational study skills and growth mindset workshop is specifically designed for GCSE students and teaches skills including memory techniques, how to understand and condense topics and the importance of creating association maps. It also touches on mental heath issues and shows students how to overcome the fear of failure, practical stress management techniques, and the power of positive visualisation.

Whilst half the year group are attending the workshops, the other half will work on target setting and revision skills in their Tutor groups.

We know that the day has a profound impact on the students as they approach their GCSE examinations and last year’s cohort achieved 1/3 of a grade higher on average than what was predicted. Without the support of the Sunninghill Trust we would not have been able to run the event this year and we are extremely grateful that this amazing local charity has once again supported our school.
