Hello Yellow - Showing Support for Mental Health

Schools and organisations across the country came together this week to make World Mental Health Day a day to remember.

In addition to wearing yellow, Tutor groups throughout our school were given lengths of yellow ribbon on Thursday morning, and asked to write words of support to show young people they are not alone with their mental health.

Our Senior Student Team then carefully tied the messages to trees in our quad to show our commitment to support one another.

Hello Yellow is an annual event run by Young Minds UK, a charity that ensures, "all young people can get the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what."

It is likely that we will all face issues with our own mental health at times in our lives. Hello Yellow is a day to stand up and say that it is ok to not be ok, and hopefully start discussions about mental health and what you can do if you are struggling. At Charters we have an excellent system to support students and staff who need it; whether this is a conversation with a Tutor or an email to worried@chartersschool.org.uk.
