22nd Aug 2024

Today we saw our Year 11 students receive their GCSE results, and there were many smiles adorning faces after opening their envelopes.  Students enjoyed a free ice cream on us to help celebrate the day as they shared their successes together.  We would like to congratulate all our students who have worked so hard to achieve their grades.

Our Year 11 students achieved another wonderful set of GCSE results this year.

Celebrating with Ice Creams

Overall 34 % of students achieved 5 or more 9 – 7 grades

Overall 84 % achieved 5 or more 9 - 4

Overall 76% achieved 5 or more 9 - 4 (including English and Maths)

Students have done incredibly well - showing that focus, hard work, and belief can secure positive outcomes.

Head of Year 11, Mr Hancock said "I’m really proud of what the students have achieved this year. We are looking forward to welcoming the vast majority back to Charters Sixth Form in September to continue their education. Well done to the entire cohort."

Headteacher, Mr Fletcher said "I would like to pass my congratulations onto all students who have collected their GCSE and BTEC results this morning.  Today is the cumulation of years of hard work and overcoming challenges along the way.  The students should be very proud of themselves in the way that they dealt with the pressures that come with studying for exams.  There are many individual notable achievements given personal circumstances.

As a cohort they have done very well, 76% gaining 9 -4 including in English and Maths and 61% gaining 5 or more passes graded 9-5 including English and Maths. These wonderful outcomes are down to the hard work or each individual, with the support from home and the teaching staff. 85% of students gained a grade 4 or better in both English and Maths.

I wish them all well and look forward to seeing many of them back in the 6th Form and wish those who are not returning the very best for the next stage of their education."

We did it!

For those students who will be returning in September to join our Sixth Form, staff are eager to help you begin to "write your own future'' with us over the next two academic years.
