Enrichment - Charters Chronicle
We firmly believes that to be academically successful, you need to have a broad and well-rounded experience that goes beyond just studying. Students in our Sixth Form are able to take advantage of a vibrant Enrichment Programme each Wednesday afternoon which certainly allows them to learn new skills and challenges them to do something different.
This week we visited the students who have chosen to work on the student newspaper The Charters Chronicle for their Enrichment lesson, and joined them as they discussed the last edition and brainstormed areas for improvement. The newspaper is led by Year 13 student, Isla, who has gathered feedback from younger students on what they liked about the publication, and what they would like to see featured in the future.
Alongside the analysis of their own newspaper, the students have been researching other on-line magazines and newspapers for inspiration.
It's wonderful to see the broad range of subjects the students working on The Chronicle study at A Level; Phoebe is studying Art, Media and Theatre Studies, Jess is studying English Language, Sociology and Media, while Arron studies Psychology, Business Studies and Economics.
We can't wait to see the next edition of The Chronicle which is due at the end of the Autumn term.
